PHOENIX — Restaurants and businesses are having to get creative and, in some cases, forced to literally change their business models almost instantly in order to stay in business during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Some restaurants in the Valley have transformed themselves into mini markets selling everyday household items, such as eggs, milk, cheese, fruits and vegetables, even household cleaners in to-go box formats. Each one operates slightly differently from the other. Some are al la carte where people can choose which items they'd like, while others are a pre-determined list of items. Of course, pricing varies at each one so you're going to want to compare.
Most, if not all, grocery stores and large retailers are open. But, if you're looking for a way to avoid the grocery store, these might be options to consider.

EVO SCOTTSDALE
The Scottsdale restaurant has transformed itself into a mini market offering a variety of kitchen staples, such as eggs, milk, cheese, butter, vegetables, fruits, ground beef, turkey, chicken, steak, and pork loins. Fruits and vegetables are priced per pound or bunch, ranging from $1-$6. Eggs are $3.50 for 15 eggs and a gallon of 2% milk is $4. A pound of ground beef (80/20) is $4 and a pound of ground turkey is $3.50, according to the website. They also have beer and wine for sale.
How to order: You can place an order via www.evoscottsdalemarket.com or over the phone, 480-265-9814. Phone orders are accepted Monday - Friday, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Pick-ups are only available on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday between 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. A text message will be sent when orders are completed and ready for pick-up.
MACAYO'S
For those craving Mexican food, there are five Macayo's restaurants open around the Valley -- Ahwatukee, Glendale, Goodyear, Mesa, and Surprise. The Depot Cantina in Tempe and their Desert Sky location in Phoenix are temporarily closed, according to the website. They have put together a special takeout/delivery menu of appetizers and a handful of "Macayo's Favorites." They are also selling cases of water, Gatorade, flour tortillas, grilled chicken, beans, and frozen meals, including bean and cheese burritos, mini chimis, chicken taquitos, and tamales.
Here is some of the pricing: $8 for a 24-pack of water, $12 for a case of Fiji water, $24 for a case of Gatorade ($12 for half a case), $4 for a dozen 13-inch flour tortillas, $4 for two dozen six-inch tortillas, $10 for grilled chicken and tortillas. View the menu.

GINGER MONKEY
In addition to its takeout menu, the Ginger Monkey has created a "mobile market" where people can purchase a variety of dairy products, vegetables, fruits, and meats, including milk, eggs, butter, ground beef, bacon, lemon, and limes.
Here is some of their pricing, according to their most recent Facebook post: $4 for a dozen eggs, $10 for three dozen eggs, $4 for a pound of butter, and $4 for a pound of chicken.

Z'TEJAS BODEGA
Both Z'Tejas restaurants in Chandler and Paradise Valley are offering all-in-one grocery boxes that claim to contain a week's worth of grocery essentials. The cost is $125 per box. Each box includes 40 items, including a mixture of vegetables, fruit, herbs, pasta, beans, rice, cooking spray, yogurt, eggs, water, four rolls of toilet paper, and paper towel. View the entire list.People can also add different meats and seafood, such as bacon, chicken, salmon, pork tenderloin, and beef. Those vary from $4-$25, depending on the item.
How to order: Orders have to be made at least 24 hours for pick-up. They can be made via Z'Tejas' website, http://ztejas.com/groceries, or by calling the individual restaurant. The number to the Chandler restaurant is 480-893-7550. The number to the Paradise Valley restaurant is 480-948-9010.
QUEEN CREEK OLIVE MILL
The Queen Creek Olive Mill is selling a mixture of perishable and non-perishable items at its market at Kierland Commons in Phoenix and at its headquarters in Queen Creek. Items change daily, but as of this writing, the marketplaces were selling a number of everyday staples, including milk, eggs, cheese, pasta, pasta sauce, herbs, sauces, fruits, and vegetables.
Pricing wasn't available online, but a spokesperson told ABC15 that items were comparable or less expensive than at grocery stores. We weren't able to immediately verify that claim so you may want to call and ask.

U.S. EGG
Both U.S. Egg restaurants in Scottsdale have also begun to sell a number of household items out of its restaurants, including eggs, milk, cheese and bathrooms items, such as toilet paper, bleach, and vinyl gloves. All items are available as add-ons to a carry-out order.
The pricing on some items are: $8 for 30 eggs, $4 for a gallon of 2% milk, $3 for a half-gallon of half-and-half cream, $7 for a 1,000-foot roll of toilet paper, and $3 for a gallon of bleach. They posted a recent price sheet to their Facebook page.
How to order: These items are available as add-ons to a carry-out order. They are offering free delivery for orders of $20 or more.
ZINQUE'
The French-inspired bistro outside Scottsdale Fashion Square mall recently began selling some grocery items in addition to offering takeout. Some of those items include eggs ($4), avocado ($5), pasta ($8), gluten-free brown rice ($10), salami ($5). You can view more items on the restaurant's website.

PITA JUNGLE
Pita Jungle has transformed to of its restaurants -- Arcadia and Scottsdale -- into mini markets. Both are selling meats, pastas, bags of vegetables, sauces, oils, along with beer, wine, toilet paper, and gloves. Vegetables are dependent on the restaurant's supply. Pita Jungle is also open for normal to-go orders at all of its restaurants.
How to order: All items are a la carte. Pricing wasn't immediately available, but people can call the two restaurant or walk in to make a purchase. The Arcadia location

THE ADOBE RESTAURANT (ARIZONA BILTMORE GOLF CLUB)
The Adobe Restaurant at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club is open for takeout orders and has also begun selling meats and a couple dairy items, part of its aptly named "Adobe Groceries" service. They are offering a "Protein Pack" for $40, which includes two pounds of chicken breast, a pound of lean ground turkey, a pound of 80/20 ground beef, a pound of thick-cut bacon, a pound of unsalted butter, eight Vienna all-beef hot dogs, and 15 Hickman eggs. No changes or substitutions. People can add a two pounds of potatoes, a pound of carrots, or a pound of onions for $5 each.
How to order: Call the restaurant at 602-468-9160. Orders will be processed in 24-48 hours.
